This page exists for one reason: so you can see whether the product is still being worked on before you put a job’s records in it. Dated, newest first.
Turnaround QC is new. Its first release was 12 August 2026 — the date below is the whole history, and there is no point pretending otherwise. It is built on a codebase that has been in use for longer under two sibling products, which is why it arrives with a job book, an audit, an auditor role and a form pack rather than as a blank slate. But as Turnaround QC, it is a day old.

A hold point used to key to a system and a free-text activity. That is enough on piping and not enough on a vessel: six R-1 repairs on one drum all sit under the same system, so "Hold — internal weld" could belong to any of them. The audit then reported the unreleased point and the accepted repair as two unrelated lines, and joining them up was left to whoever read the report.
Hold & Witness Points now carries a Repair / Alteration field, which lists the repair numbers actually on the job. It is optional on purpose — plenty of hold points belong to a hydro or a jurisdiction review of a whole system rather than to one repair, and forcing every one of them to name a repair would push people into picking a wrong answer to get past the field.
A repair marked Complete or Accepted while a hold point attached to it is still open is a failing finding, reported against the repair — the record that claims to be finished. The blocking points are named individually rather than counted, because "3 hold points" sends somebody looking and *HP-014, HP-021* sends them to the right two.
Both statuses are gated, not just Accepted. Complete is usually the contractor's own mark and Accepted the client's; gating only the second leaves the repair sitting Complete over an open hold point for as long as anybody likes, which is the window this closes.
A Failed hold point blocks as firmly as an open one. Released and Waived are answers; failed is the loudest possible reason not to call a repair finished.
Five new fields — Welding Complete, NDE Complete, PWHT Complete, Pressure Test Complete, AI Accepted — joining the R-Form Filed and Jurisdiction Notified fields that were already doing this job. A repair marked Complete or Accepted with any of them blank, or answered No, is a failing finding.
The reference fields above them have always recorded *which* weld log entries, NDE reports and PWHT charts apply. What was missing was whether that part is finished, and a reference to an examination nobody had carried out looked exactly like a reference to one they had.
Mechanical Completion uses plain tick boxes for its five prerequisites and that is right there, because every one of them applies to every system. It is wrong on a repair. Most repairs need no PWHT and many need no pressure test, and a tick box cannot say "not applicable" — it can only say no. Ticking it anyway to clear the field records a heat treatment that never happened, which is a worse record than the gap it was covering.
Blank means nobody has answered yet. N/A is an answer. Unanswered and answered-No are reported as two separate findings, because they are two different problems: one is a form nobody finished, the other is a record that contradicts itself on its own face.
It does not stop you saving anything. A repair can still be marked Accepted over an open hold point, and the audit will say so — loudly, on the repair, with the point named. Turnaround QC records and surfaces; the decision, and the signature, stay yours. A system that refused the save would just move the record onto a paper sheet in somebody's truck, and then it is not a record at all.
It always claimed to. The landing page has said "instruments out of calibration on the day they produced a reading" since the first release, and what the audit actually checked was whether a calibration is expired today — a different and much weaker question. It cleared a gauge that had been months out of date when it produced the number, so long as somebody had recalibrated it since.
It now compares the certificate against the date of the work. A pressure test dated 15 August on a gauge whose calibration lapsed on 1 July is a failing finding, and it names both dates. The same check covers the torque tool on a flange joint, the analyser on a PMI, the instrument on a thickness reading, and the technician's certification on an NDE report.
A certificate that expires on the day of the work is still valid — a certificate runs to the end of its expiry date.
A pressure test records the gauge's calibration due date. An NDE report records the technician's level and certificate expiry. Those copies are deliberate and worth keeping — they record the state at the time, the same reasoning that dates a weld to the day the arc struck rather than to today. A calibration that lapses next month does not retrospectively invalidate a reading taken while it was current.
What was missing is that nothing compared the copy against the record it came from, so the two could disagree in silence. If the report says Level II and the technician's own record says Level III, that is now a finding quoting both. A blank on either side is left alone — that is an omission, not a disagreement, and reporting it here would double up on every half-filled record.
Repairs & Alterations now carries Found By (Vessel Entry), naming the inspection that raised it. An entry marked *"repairs required: Yes"* with no repair anywhere naming it is a warning — not a failure, because the repair may simply not have been raised yet, and an entry written this morning is not a turnover defect.
The link points that way round deliberately. One entry usually produces several repairs, and a single dropdown on the entry could only name one of them.
The weld log has always carried NDE Required. It was one free-text box holding the method and the extent together — the seeded jobs say RT 100% — and as text nothing could reconcile it against the NDE reports. A weld that required radiography and never got any looked exactly like a weld that did: both had a sentence in a box.
NDE Required is now a list of methods, chosen from the same set the reports are written against, with NDE Extent Required beside it as its own field. The extent stays free text on purpose: *100%*, *10% of welds*, *1 in 5 per welder* and *first 3 then 10%* are all real answers and none of them is a number.
That makes the join possible. A weld marked Accepted that requires RT with no radiograph anywhere against it is now a failing finding, and it names only what is missing — require RT and PT, do the PT, and the finding says RT. A report against a different weld does not count, and a PT report does not satisfy an RT requirement.
Welds at NDE Pending are deliberately not flagged. That status says outright the examination has not happened yet, and reporting it would flag the normal state of every weld on a live job.
The ten NDE methods were written out separately on the NDE report, on the technician's certified methods, and were about to be written a third time on the weld log. Three copies of a list the audit now joins across is a drift waiting to happen: add PAUT to one and not another, and a weld requiring it can never be satisfied — the required value and the performed value are drawn from different vocabularies and simply never match. There is one list now.
The crew timesheet asked for a Classification and offered one merged dropdown to answer it — *Journeyman Pipefitter* beside *Welder* beside *Superintendent* beside *Document Control*. Craft Qualifications, meanwhile, kept the two apart: a craft and a grade, in two fields.
So the same person was a Pipefitter at Journeyman grade on one record and a "Journeyman Pipefitter" on the other, and hours could not be added up by trade without matching strings and hoping.
The timesheet now asks both questions separately, from the same two lists the qualification record uses, and the Reports tab has an Hours by Craft table beside Hours by Employee and Hours by Cost Code. Cost codes tell you where the hours went; craft tells you who spent them, which is the number the next turnaround gets estimated from.
Hours with no craft against them get their own row rather than being dropped — the same rule the other two tables already follow, because a total that disagrees with the column beneath it is worse than an untidy row.
One spelling was quietly wrong on both sides: *Scaffold builder* on the qualification record and *Scaffold Builder* on the timesheet. They are one value now.
The JSA holds eight job steps and cannot hold a ninth. That is not an oversight — it is a page measurement, re-checked by rendering the sheet at each row count: eight rows and nine rows print on one page, ten rows print on two. A briefing sheet that runs to a second page carrying nothing but a signature block is worse than a short one, so the ceiling stayed.
A job that needs more steps now gets a second sheet. Steps 9 to 16, on their own page, in the same four columns.
The rows are numbered to carry on from the first sheet rather than restarting at one, so a step has the same number on paper as it has in the record. It repeats the JSA number, date and task at the top — a continuation page that gets separated from its parent on a jobsite has to be able to say what it belongs to — and it is signed again on its own page, because a page with no signature is one anybody could have added afterwards.
Everything else stays on sheet 1. The permits, the PPE, the isolation points and the emergency details are decided once for the whole task, and repeating them invites two different answers to one question. The crew signs once, for the whole briefing.
An eight-step JSA prints exactly one page, as it always did. The ninth step is what brings the second sheet out, and both come out of a single print — one Ctrl-P gives the whole record, so the two cannot be separated by somebody printing only the first window.

Turnaround QC is document control for refinery and petrochemical turnarounds — the mix of field piping and vessel work that a shutdown actually is. It ships with 51 record sections, a turnover job book that compiles 48 of them, an independent audit, an isometric sketch pad, PDF drawing markup, CSV import and export, and a shared punch list.
It is organised by system, not by job number. A turnaround is not one job; it is several hundred jobs sharing an outage window and a single critical path, and the unit that gets tested, walked down, punched and handed back is the system. Everything here hangs off that.
These are the reason this is not a generic form builder, and they are the parts worth reading before deciding whether it fits how you work:
Continuity under ASME IX, the WPS revision in force, and the heat treatment window are all judged at the date of the weld and not at today’s. A welder whose six-month continuity lapsed last month did not invalidate the weld he made in March — and a log that records the welder without the date cannot answer the only question an auditor asks about a welder.
Root and cap welders are two fields, because they are routinely two people. Repairs are their own record rather than a status on the weld, so the repair rate is a number that can be handed over rather than one lost the moment a repair overwrites what it replaced.

Opening a line and closing it again writes nothing. The editor reports its own first render as a change, so an unguarded autosave would put an empty drawing on a line nobody had drawn on — after which the register would stop seeding the title block and nobody would know why the line number had stopped arriving on the sheet.

Every sheet prints on exactly one page, which is checked by counting pages in the rendered PDF rather than by measuring the content — a landscape sheet whose minimum height outranks the print reset emits a blank second page that is invisible on screen.
Isolation point and stored energy are two blanks rather than one, because answering the first is routinely mistaken for having answered the second. A line can be locked out, drained and blinded and still hold trapped pressure behind a closed valve, hot residue in a low point, a pocket of hydrocarbon under a tray, or a spring-loaded valve nobody de-energised.
Nothing that has not shipped. There is no roadmap here, no “coming soon”, and no entry for work in progress. When something lands it gets a dated entry; until then it is not mentioned, because a changelog that lists intentions is a marketing page wearing a changelog’s clothes.
